Business Not as Usual. Jurgita Dronina, principal ballerina with English National Ballet and National Ballet of Canada

Friday 10th April, 2020

My career is

Principal ballerina with National ballet of Canada / English National Ballet.

What challenges I’m facing

Trying to keep ballet training at home and keep fit.

What opportunities I see

To connect with the audience virtually and to feel part of ballet community by interacting via ballet classes and training and Q&A virtually.

My top productivity tool

To not allow myself to slip into laziness while being in home environment. I constantly try to keep the routine and morning trainings as precise as possible.

The new skill I'm learning

Patience and acceptance.

What I'm doing to overcome anxiety

Keeping reminding myself that I am blessed to be with the family and being in a good health. That all the world is in this together and I have to put my personal ambition aside for a little while and just be patient. This will pass.

I’m most looking forward to

Planning my next season 20/21  with getting back to performing again and enjoying the stages worldwide.

The app I've discovered and use a lot

Discovered - Zoom. Use the most – Instagram.

I’m reading

Andre Agassi ‘Open’.

I keep fit and healthy

Training: Ballet barre , Pilates, exercises 5 days a week, biking.

I’m listening

To vinyl records.

I’m wearing

Comfy home clothes! Sometimes pyjama all day long!

What advise/tips would you share with others

Be forgiving to yourself during this time. Keep in touch with the ones you love and care. It’s rare occasion that we do have time to call everyone and catch up on things.
