What challenges I’m facing
It is very upsetting to go to work and find only a couple of kids in a classroom. At home, I am facing a challenge of finding the place in the house for all my family to work and learn undisturbed. I work and also homeschool my 6-year-old son, he needs lots of attention and can't do most of the tasks without adult guidance. I’m overwhelmed by amount of technology I must use/ get familiar with. Was not prepared to this scale.
What opportunities I see
Becoming more technology wise, spending more time with my family, doing some DIY around the house, and trying new things/ hobbies/ learning new skills.
The new skill I'm learning
Work wise - organizing distance learning materials, exploring conferencing e.g. Google classroom, Zoom. I’m also mastering my new hobby - garden landscaping.
The app I've discovered and use a lot
Lots of education websites e.g. White Rose Math homeschooling, Read Theory, BBC bite size, Twinkl.
I’m reading
Work related material, online. No time for pleasure reading because if I'm not working, then homeschooling my child.
What I'm doing to overcome anxiety
We stay a lot in our garden, planting, playing with kids.
I’m most looking forward to
Have long planned holiday, having a meal outside the house and properly celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday.
My advise
Watch less news, plan activities, keep yourself busy, don't worry about the things/work should have happened, accept the reality and make the most of it.
