{until 2nd of August 2015} Scotch & Soda at London Wonderground

Monday 8th June, 2015

{went to see} Scotch & Soda at London Wonderground, Southbank Centre

{loved} Circus is usually not our cup of tea. But we loved alluring theatrical atmosphere and live jazz beats from the internationally renowned Crusty Suitcase Band. Good combination of Australia’s finest acrobats, high energy circus entertainment and live jazz music. The whole show has the feel of a group of friends having a few drinks and showing off their best party tricks. {Well, downing six bottles of Moët & Chandon is no brainer, walking on the lips of champagne bottles might be more challenging. We say – don't try this at home}.

{wasn't that impressed with} duet of birds, we think, was out of context. Man flashing his genitals might be hilarious for some but it wasn’t for us. Hence show is suitable for ages 12+

{verdict} Go with an open mind, get a drink and have fun!

{synopsis} A dusty desert bar. A chance encounter. A spectacular clash of spellbinding misfits, Scotch & Soda is a whiskey-soaked evening of breathtaking feats, blinding charm and beatnik soul. Scotch & Soda features gravity-defying circus from some of Australia’s finest acrobats with previous appearances including Cantina, La Clique, Cirque and Tom Tom Crew with music from the renowned Crusty Suitcase Band. Scotch & Soda is a collaboration between Ben Walsh’s Crusty Suitcase Band and David Carberry and Chelsea McGuffin - the creators of the internationally acclaimed show Cantina. Having previously collaborated on several occasions, Scotch & Soda is the first time that all of these artists have formally come together to present this brand new production.

SCOTCH & SODA at London Wonderground; tickets from £12.50; until 2 August 2015; suitable for ages 12+; I: www.londonwonderground.co.uk, www.southbankcentre.co.uk; BOOK TICKETS >>>>>
